When our world gets turned upside down it can be difficult to stay positive. The best way to maintain an uplifted approach is through the practice of gratitude. You may find the following guide to be one you can come back to anytime you feel yourself slip into a negative mind set.
Today, think of 1 problem or negative situation in your life that you'd like to see resolved. For example; if you have recently been laid off, instead of focusing on all the things that are upsetting about your situation, your going to list all the things your thankful for. This is not always an easy task however any time we complain about a problem we are inviting more into our lives to complain about! Your goal is to magically turn your negative situation into a positive one through a concentrated gratitude practice. Making a list of 10 things WHY your grateful for this situation has more power than any negative thought. The additional magic comes from your SINCERITY and FEELING you have of gratitude towards each sentence you write.
Your list can be written in the following way:
I am so grateful for......
I am glad....
After you've written 10 reasons why your thankful for your situation, write these words at the bottom of your list. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the perfect resolution"
The reason why we repeat the magic words 3 times is the power of creation. And today you are creating the most positive solution through your intention of gratitude.
For today, your next task is to try to get through just 1 day without saying anything negative.
This can be a challenging practice as most of us don't notice when we are expressing ourselves negatively. When we can become more aware of our words before we speak them, we have an incredible ability to be happier. In return we are attracting more good things our way! To help with this practice, take hold of this lifeline if you notice yourself about to say or think something negative: "But I have to say I am truly grateful for...."
You'll discover by keeping this lifeline in your toolbox keeps any fires at bay and allows for your magic to spread further into your day.
Magic Practice #6 Magical Way Out of Negativity (Based on the Magic by Rhonda Bryne) 1. Repeat steps 1 & 2 of Day 1: Count your blessings. Make a list of 10 blessings. Write WHY you're grateful. Reread your list, and at the end of each blessing say, Thank you, thank you, thank you (3x), and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can. 2. Choose 1 problem or negative situation in your life that you want to resolve 3.List 10 things you are grateful for about this negative situation
4. At the end of your list write: 'Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the perfect resolution' 5. Just for today, see if you can get through it without saying anything negative. If you notice yourself thinking or about to say something negative, use this magic lifeline. Stop immediately and say: "But I have to say that I am grateful for..."
7. Before you go to sleep, take your magic rock in one hand and say the magic words, Thank you, for the best thing that happened during the day.
