Life is precious. At this point with your daily magical practices, you probably have noticed many things to be grateful for. Just the simple fact of having your health, food and family is a blessing. The addition of a home, job, money and material goods is a bonus. If we were to really dive deep into the fact that living and breathing is a miracle on its own, then we can truly be happy each and every day of our lives.
Consider for a moment the air you breathe. Without it there would be no life. Since the day we were born to the day we pass, oxygen is what sustains us. Having a global pandemic that compromises our respiratory system should automatically make us grateful we can breathe without assistance therefore today we are going to elevate the magic by carving out time to honor the air we breathe.
Think how beautifully orchestrated the earth is in which there's a protective layer in the atmosphere that allows life to be sustained. Consider the importance of trees as they provide oxygen and in turn our exhale sustains life for the trees. All you have to do is notice the thriving plants in a yoga studio that are constantly being nourished by waves of breath. Their vibrant green leaves says it all!
For your daily practice, your going to choose 5 separate occasions to stop and think about the air you breathe. Take 5 deliberate breaths, focusing on the inhale and following through to the exhale. Aside from scheduled time on your mat, rediscover the joy of breathing throughout the day. This can be done on walks, in the kitchen or as you go about your routine. To maximize the effect see if you can do this outside as many times as you can. When you finish your 5 breaths, say the magic words: 'Thank you for the magical air that I breathe' and feel as grateful as you can for life's precious gift.
Magic Practice #23 The Magical Air You Breathe
1. Count your blessings. Make a list of 10 blessings. Write WHY you're grateful. Reread your list, and at the end of each blessing say, Thank you, thank you, thank you (3x), and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can.
2. 5x today, stop and think about the nourishing air that you breathe. Take 5 deliberate breaths, and feel the air flowing inside your body and feel the joy of the breathing out
3. After you taken the 5 breaths, say the magic words, "Thank you for the magical air that I breathe." Be as grateful as you can for the precious gift of air that you breathe.
4.Before you go to sleep, take your magic rock in one hand and say the magic words, Thank you, for the best thing that happened during the day.
