DAY 17: The Magic Check

Let's bring the conversation back to money for a moment. Whether you believe it or not each one of us has a relationship with it. If you were to really think about what yours is like, how would you truly rate it? Do you stress about your finances or are you grateful for the money you do have? As a society, many of us are being forced to look at our financial stability and there could be a question of "Do I have enough?" As difficult as it may be, just for a moment, ignore your current situation and any 'lack of money' you could be experiencing. What today's practice is going to do is shift your relationship with money by applying the magic of gratitude.

"You can't be thinking grateful thoughts about money and worried thoughts at the same time. When you're grateful for money, not only do you stop the negative thoughts and feelings that push it away from you, you're doing the very thing that brings more money to you!"

-pg.158 'The Magic' by Rhonda Bryne

The abundance of money comes in different forms. For example, there's an item that you really want at the store and finally you decide that today's the day your going to buy it. When you get there you're pleasantly surprised to see it's 50% off! Now that is a deal bound to make you grateful and happy. Not only do you receive your item but you also save MONEY. Or take this situation that could of happened to you in the past. You've been contemplating buying your first set of cross country skis. One day your neighbor is clearing out their garage and asks if you would be interested in having their old pair of skis that are in perfect condition because they no longer use them. This unexpected act of kindness not only brought you your sought after skis but you also saved money! Bonuses at work, unexpected winfalls, discounts and finding money where we least expected are all wonderful circumstances where we've experienced the magic of gratitude.

Today's practice stems from 'The Secret' and it involves the Magic Check. It can be photocopied or scanned online from this link: http://www.thesecret.tv/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/the-magic-check-en.pdf

If you don't have a printer, you can add it to your phone and edit it with your signature and amount. Place it on a screen you'll see it often!

Once you have the check in front of you, think of something that you really want and how much money you would need to attain it. When you visualize receiving it, how does it make you feel? Focus on the joy and gratitude that swells in your heart the moment it arrives.

You might start with a smaller amount and notice how the magic of gratitude works over a shorter period of time. As an example, it could be a check that you write for a new mattress because your current one is old and has hard springs. Visualize and picture the mattress of your choosing, how its delivered and arrives at your home. Include details of you setting it up with new bed linens and falling asleep that first night in the comforts of your new mattress. Notice the emotions it triggers and feel as thankful as you can for your new bed now that you received it.

Once you've decided on an amount and what your going to use it for then fill in the check. Write it out in your name and include today's date. Take the check in your hands and imagine purchasing the specific thing you want most right now. Feel as happy and grateful for it as you can. Today, you'll bring the magic check with you or put it in a place that you'll see it often. On at least 2 occasions take the check in your hands and imagine using it for what you want. Include as much feeling and gratitude towards it as you can

At the end of today keep the check in a location you see it daily. After you acquire what it is you wanted you can replace the check for a new one and repeat the same practice. Believe in the power of gratitude and watch the magic unfold!

Magic Practice #17 The Magic Check 1. Count your blessings. Make a list of 10 blessings. Write WHY you're grateful. Reread your list, and at the end of each blessing say, Thank you, thank you, thank you (3x), and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can.
